Professor Finley, in collaboration with Dr. Shannon Mumenthaler (Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine at USC) and Dr. Paul Macklin (Indiana University), was awarded a five-year grant from the NIH National Cancer Institute. This is a U01 through the Cancer Systems Biology Consortium.

The project, entitled “Multiscale systems biology modeling to exploit tumor-stromal metabolic crosstalk in colorectal cancer”, will develop an experiment-based, validated computational model of tumor-stromal interactions in colon cancer and apply the model to identify novel strategies that exploit metabolic crosstalk and inhibit tumor growth.

Professor Finley had the opportunity to highlight this project at the annual U01 investigators meeting at NIH.

We look forward to completing this exciting work!

Congratulations, Professor Finley!
