Congratulations to Professor Finley, who was selected to receive the inaugural Leah Edelstein-Keshet Prize from the Society of Mathematical Biology (SMB).

This award recognizes a woman in an early stage of her career who is making exceptional scientific contributions to mathematical biology, developing a strong independent research program, and exhibiting a continuously high level of scientific endeavor and leadership.

The award is named after Dr. Edelstein-Keshet, a pioneer in the field of mathematical biology and the first female president of SMB.

The official notification of the award states:

Stacey D. Finley, University of Southern California, will be the inaugural recipient of the Leah Edelstein-Keshet Prize for her outstanding contributions to mathematical oncology, particularly for her studies on anti-VEGF treatment strategies in cancer that combine mathematical models and experiments. Her work has the potential to make a significant impact on the development of drugs to target angiogenesis in a wide range of conditions.

Professor Finley will receive the prize at the Annual Meeting of the Society of Mathematical Biology in Salt Lake City, UT in July. She will also give a plenary talk at the meeting.

Congratulations, Professor Finley!!
