Congratulations to Professor Finley, who was appointed as the Director and Founder of the Center for Computational Modeling of Cancer!

The Center for Computational Modeling of Cancer (CCMC) applies mathematical modeling to understand cancer and identify effective treatments for cancer patients.

The CCMC bridges researchers from various disciplines with clinicians and patients. This includes engineers, computer scientists, mathematicians, physicists, and cancer biologists. The ultimate vision is to build computational models of cancer that help improve patient outcomes.

The CCMC launch event was held November 5, 2019 in the Michelson Building at USC. Dr. Yannis Yortsos, Dean of the Viterbi School of Engineering provided introductory comments. Professor Finley presented the vision and goals of the CCMC. Attendees then toured Michelson to learn more about CCMC projects, researchers, and focus areas. It was an exciting start to the great research to come out of this endeavor!

Read more about Professor Finley’s perspective on the CCMC at the Mathematical Oncology Blog.

Congratulations, Dr. Finley! We look forward to the impact that the CCMC will have under your leadership.
