Professor Finley was invited to speak in the Women in STEM panel at the California African American Museum. The panel was part of the museum’s celebration of Women’s Month (March). Other panelists included: Porche Jones (City of Long Beach, Nutritionist), Pixie Boyden (USC, Director of Management Information System in the Rossier School of Education), and Annie Richardson (Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Education and Public Outreach). The panel was moderated by Dr. Eva Graham (Cal Tech, Director of the Center for Diversity).

Dr. Finley noted: “Partnering with the CAAM was a great opportunity to reach out to the community and share the broader impacts of my work. I was able to briefly talk about my research, while encouraging young women from under-represented groups to pursue STEM careers, including those in biomedical engineering.”

We look forward to more outreach opportunities!
