Professor Finley was recently featured in an exciting new(ish) podcast. Vice Dean Brandi Jones of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering has reimagined the Escape Velocity podcast to focus on race, academia and STEM.

Prof. Finley tells the story of her path to flourishing in engineering, pursuing an academic career, and becoming a faculty member at USC – just the 2nd Black faculty to earn tenure in Viterbi. Dr. Finley reflects on the state of African Americans in academia, set against the backdrop of a longstanding history of under-representation of people of color in STEM.

By providing a personal perspective, the podcast aims to shed light on the experiences of Blacks in science and spark discussions and action to effect change and inclusion.

We encourage to you listen!
