December 17, 2022Congratulations to Holly Huber for successfully passing her Ph.D. qualifying exam. Holly is now a Ph.D. Candidate!
Holly’s Ph.D. research will apply a Bayesian approach to develop mechanistic models, with application in lymphatic endothelial cells (LECs). In particular, Holly proposes to construct two models: one describing fatty acid-mediated CD36 signaling and another to predict CD36 signaling-modulated LEC permeability. Her novel research has both method development for model verification and experimental design and application of the biological model. This work builds on Holly’s published work showing the use of Bayesian inference to refine biological hypotheses.
We look forward to the new models and approaches that will come from this exciting research, which can provide quantitative insights that can be used to guide enhancing LEC permeability in pathological conditions.
Congratulations, Holly!
